A Little About Me...
I have been an educator for six years now. I spent two of those years working and growing in other school districts in various elementary teaching positions. This is my fourth year at RVS! Previously at RVS, I taught third grade and I am now teaching science to both fifth and sixth grade!
I have always loved working with children, even when I was still a student myself! From an early age, I can recall playing "school" with my friends. As I got older, I would volunteer at summer camps to work with younger children. During high school, I began tutoring at elementary schools. All these factors combined made me realize how much I love teaching and helping other people.
Currently, I am earning my Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Learning STEAM Education from William Paterson University. I also completed my undergraduate degree at William Paterson University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education K-6 with a Middle School Science 5-8 certification and I also have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.
In order to help your children grow and learn, I set high expectations for all my students. When it comes to learning, I believe that you learn best when you can have fun and feel safe. I love to give my students the opportunity to have fun and be silly while they are learning. With that being said, for this fun and safe classroom environment to be successful, I have to also be firm. I set clear expectations and rules for all my students. I respect all my students and expect the same in return. I love working with your children and, as always, I am looking forward to another great year! (:
