Superintendent’s Report:

There were a number of HSA events-hero dance, talent show, and story pirates.  They were very successful events.  In fairness to the kids, RVS needs a better sound system.  We’ve started pricing out new sound systems-hard wire and wireless.  Hopefully for the next school year.  Fortunately we’ve looked at budget and we think we can update it over the summer.  Would of made for a better evening at the talent show.  Next year we will be going paperless with report cards, everyone can view on the parent portal.  Possibly a hard copy for the 4 th marking period.  Adding more options for comments, little more holistic.  Exploring other enrichment options, particularly at junior high level.  One of the things are online options, blended learning models, possibly bring in outside companies.  Kids could get credit for taking classes online.  Mrs. Allen’s last day was yesterday.  Ms. Bernice is the replacement for the remainder of the school year.

Board of Education Report:

Board approved Mrs. Flaherty’s maternity leave, March 14-June 30 th .  Sept 1 st she will return to work.  Searching for leave replacement.  Also searching for a baseball coach-upcoming season.  Next meeting will be February 10 th .

Teacher’s Report:

Kids loved the story pirates, hero/daughter dance and family fun night.  Thanks to everyone.

Reading of the Correspondence:

Mrs. Salmon-thank you for granting wish list item.  Kids are enjoying the bean bag chair.

Treasurer’s Report:

$960.79 (Game of chance)

$3,955.27 (Paypal)

$1,837.00 (Hero Daughter dance)

$985.00 (Talent Show)

Mrs. Scivetti is asking for an area for the children to read/designated learning and reading area.  Would like a bean bag chair, $60, area rug for $75, also educational games no more than $125.  Total $260.  Voted and approved.
