On drop down on PARCC home page, you can see how scores are being displayed. NJ one of few states that categorizes 1-5 proficiency, this state will qualify a student as passing if they receive a 4 or 5. If less than 95% of the school participates, feds came come in and withhold state aid. Helps to inform instructional decisions.
STEAM is going well. In the 2nd marking period every teacher must develop a STEAM activity, it’s a great new way for students to problem solve.
Exploring the possibility of an accelerate 7th and 8th math program. RVS does not currently have one, option of accelerated Algebra I with Geometry at the end of the grade.

Christina Sanclimenti had an idea for a concept of a Halloween Costume Closet to be organized as a fundraiser for the 2016-17 year. Gently used costumes for kids, infants, adults including accessories could be donated and collected on certain days in the lobby. Categorized and organized in the month of September. Closet would open October 1 and kids/parents could “shop”. Possible set up in the library on racks. All funds for sale or rental of costume to go to the HSA. Idea liked, will be revisited at the end of the school year ’16 to prep for coming Fall ’16 if HSA wants to pursue.
