1-31-20 News and Updates

  •   School Spirit Day is this Monday, February 3 .  Our food collection that day has been registered to the national program Souper Bowl of Caring so that the amount we collect can be reflected with the collections being run by youth all over the country in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl.  In the upper grades, food donations will help homeroom accrue points towards the "mystery prize" awarded in June (last year's prize:  a trip to Monster Mini Golf in East Hanover).  Learn more about the Souper Bowl of Caring here:  Souper Bowl.

  • Upcoming HSA events:  1/31, Talent Show 6:30 PM (doors at 6:00);     2/1 Roller Skating, 6 PM; 2/6 Book Swap (flyer below); 2/13 Valentine Pretzels (flyer below)
  • Auditions for this year's musical, Frozen, will be held on February 5 and 6.
  • School is closed for Winter Break Friday, February - Tus, February 18.  School reopens Wednesday, February 19.
  • RVS is participating in a local recycling project trying to eliminate 1-use plastic bags and packaging from landfills.  See the flyer below.  The homeroom that collects the most plastic receives a pizza party!

Good luck to the Boys' Basketball Team in the Championship game this weekend!!   The game will be played Saturday (tomorrow) at 5:00 at MacKinnon Middle School in Wharton, 137 E. Central Ave in Wharton.  Admission to the game is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors, and $2 for students.  Best of luck to the boys, Coach Turner and Coach Mongon.

  Fly high Falcons!!

Reminder:  The school day begins at 7:52 with the start of homeroom.  The side door in the parking lot is locked at that time.  Students who are not in homeroom at 7:52 are considered late and need to be dropped off at the main office to obtain a late pass.  Students who are already in the building for early activities (clubs, band, extra help) must report to homeroom by 7:52 or they will also need to obtain a late pass.
